The Friends thank the Meyer Memorial Trust for their generous support

The Meyer Memorial Trust has granted support to the Friends to develop and implement the capital campaign and solidify restoration plans to restore the interior of the Oregon Caves Chateau, support the NPS in the structural restoration, the restoration of the Guide Dormitory, and to increase marketing of the Oregon Caves National Monument.

We appreciate their generous support and partnership as we protect and restore this Historic Treasure for Oregon and citizens throughout the world. Please join in and watch for more frequent newsletters, an updated website, an engaged facebook page and maybe even twitter. We want to hear your stories and hope you will post photos of when you worked at or visited the Monument.

The Board of the Friends of the Oregon Caves and Chateau will be available as well as Jerralynn Ness our Monterey Furniture specialist. The Pendleton Home store is at 210 NW Broadway at the corner of Broadway and Davis in the Pearl District.

As a partner in the restoration of the Model room, we are very excited that Pendleton is hosting this evening to share the restoration plans, view a select collection of Monterey Furniture and we hope to hear your stories about the Caves and Chateau.

Oregon Cultural Trust Grant supports Monterey Furniture Restoration

With the generous grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust, we have begun the restoration of the most critical pieces of the original collection of the Historic Monterey Furniture. This also leveraged financial support from the NPS.

"This grant was instrumental starting the process to restore the Chateau's rare historical collection. We believe it will also leverage further financial support from the NPS and encourage the donation of additional pieces from collectors. Restoring the collection is a cornerstone of the Chateau's overall renovation." James R. Dole, President of the Board of Directors Friends of the Oregon Caves and Chateau.

Donations of Monterey Furniture for the Model Room

As we have begun the restoration of phase two of the Model Room, we are thrilled to have received donations of Monterey furniture from Jerralynn Ness and Bernie Thurber as well as from Monterey College.

We encourage individuals or organizations who have furniture to donate to contact Sue Densmore 541-944-1139 or email [email protected].

We will need an additional 250 pieces to fill in the rooms and the public spaces.
