Nick, you asked about Mr. C. Sorry to say this, but Harry Christiansen passed away in March of 2003. I met Mr. C very briefly one evening in front of the Chateau in the mid-’80s when he made an overnight visit. Also was fortunate to get to interview him in the mid-1990s over the phone for an article I was writing for “Oregon Parks” magazine about the December 1964 flood at the Caves. He was a delight to talk with; just a fountain of useful information and fascinating stories.
The person we’re wondering about is Ranger Ted Davis. Does anybody know if he is still with us? He was such a joy to work with and seemed to really enjoy all the young “kids” who worked at the Caves every summer. So…everyone have a great time at the reunion. We send our best wishes to all and hope we can make it next year.–Jim & Diane Forst
